Unfortunately, the Roku screensaver is going away. We realize that many of you have relied on this screensaver for the last few years to stay informed about the latest weather and news. Unfortunately, due to Roku platform restrictions Haystack is required to remove the screensaver from our app.

Will this affect how the main Haystack News Roku app works?

No, you will still be able to access Haystack News Roku app from the main Home screen. This will have no effect on the functionality of the main app.

How do I remove the screensaver Haystack screensaver immediately?

From your Roku Home Screen go to Settings > Theme > Screensavers. Then select an alternate screensaver and select "Set as screensaver"

Why are you removing the screensaver?

Roku requires that a screensaver not be bundled with an app, so we have to remove the screensaver functionality from our app.

Are you planning to support a Roku screensaver in the future?

If Roku changes its platform rules we will definitely look to invest in a screensaver again. We love our screensaver and hope that we can continue to support it in the future.
