How to sign in to Haystack News on my Smart TV or connected TV device?

Logging in allows you to maintain continuity in your news consumption habits no matter where you are watching from.

Steps to sign in:

πŸ› οΈ Step 1: Access the Settings Menu

Start by finding the 'Settings' menu on your device. The exact location of this menu can vary depending on the device you are using to watch Haystack News.

  1. In some devices, you can ⬆️ Scroll up to the settings

  2. Or you can ⬇️ Scroll down to the settings

Look for the 'Sign in' option within the Settings menu. Here you have two options:

You can sign in by using your email; you just need to type in and then tab on 'Submit'.

Please remember that the verification code is only valid for a limited time of 30 minutes. If this time elapses, you will need to generate a new code.

You have the options to scan the QR code or go to haystack.tv/activate and type the code shown on the screen.

  • πŸ”³ Scan the QR Code:

    • Use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to scan the QR code displayed on your TV screen. You will be redirected to our website to continue the process.

    • Extra tip: You can go directly to our website (https://www.haystack.tv/signin) and sign in with the option of your preference. Then, go back here and scan the QR. You will automatically be signed in with the account you used on your smart TV.

  • 🌐 Go to Website:

    • Alternatively, you can enter the login details manually by going to haystack.tv/activate, where you have to type the code shown on your smart TV.

    • 🧾 After Entering the Code

      You’ll be shown all available sign-in options:

      • 🟒 Google

      • πŸ”΅ Facebook

      • 🍎 Apple

      • βœ‰οΈ Email

    • Once finishing the sign in on the website, your account will be automatically signed in on your smart TV, or just tap on 'Done' to load the app with your account.

πŸ“Ί Considerations for Roku and Apple users:

For Roku Users:

When signing in, you can choose to log in using either your Roku Account or Email.

  • If you select Roku Account, you will be signed in with the account already linked to your Roku device.

  • If you select Email, you will need to manually enter your email address, and a sign-in email will be sent to your inbox.

🍎 For Apple TV Users:

You can sign in using either your Apple Account or your Email.

  • If you choose Apple Account, you will be redirected to log in with the Apple ID associated with your Apple TV. You will also have the option to hide or share your email. Please note that whichever option you select (hiding or sharing your email) must be used consistently in future sign-ins to ensure your preferences are saved across platforms.

  • If you choose Email, you will need to manually enter your email address, and a sign-in email will be sent to your inbox.

  • Go to your email and open it; scroll down, and click on the 'Sign in' button (make sure to check your spam/bulk folder)

  • After clicking "Sign In", you will be redirected to our website, where you can sign in with any of the login options (Apple, Google, etc)

If you got an error indicating that the code expires, please double-check that you're opening the correct email by verifying the date and time. You may also see the email displayed as shown in the image below:

Please proceed with releasing it to view the new email and continue with the process.
