How to enable Closed Captions (CC)?
Updated over a week ago

At Haystack News, we are committed to providing our users with the best possible experience. That's why we offer closed captioning (CC) across all our platforms for our live content and other videos when it's provided by our publisher partner.

How to Turn Closed Captioning On/Off

If you would like to turn closed captioning on or off while watching a video on Haystack News, simply follow these steps:

  1. Inside our app, navigate to our Live channel

    go_to_live_1.gif

  2. Start playing it on fullscreen mode

    go_to_live_2.gif

  3. Look for our CC button in the player controls

  4. Enable it. The button will turn yellow when enabled

  5. You will start seeing the video with CC (when available)

Extra tips:

You can activate or deactivate the CCs by pressing the CC button from your remote control. Also, take into consideration that if the CCs are activated from your device settings, this will make the app shows the CCs on the videos. But you can deactivate them from your device settings, this will make that the app does not show the CCs on the videos.

Things to take into consideration:

  • We offer CC on live videos and other videos when our publisher partner provides them.

  • The CC being displayed depends on the video provider

  • There may be some segments that don't offer CC, like ads. If you still cannot get CC when enabled, please send us a message at feedback@haystack.tv
