This guide covers how to sign in to Haystack News on any Smart TV or connected TV device.
Step 1: Open Settings
Find the Settings menu on your TV. Depending on your device, it may appear at the top or bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Choose a sign-in method
Inside Settings, select Sign in. You will see two options:
Option 1 — Use Remote
Type your email address using the remote and tap Submit. A verification code will be sent to your inbox. The code is valid for 30 minutes — if it expires, request a new one.
Option 2 — Use Your Phone
This is the faster option. You can either:
Scan the QR code shown on your TV screen with your phone, or
Go to haystack.tv/activate and enter the code shown on your TV.
After entering the code, choose your sign-in method: Google, Facebook, Apple, or Email. Once completed on your phone, your TV will sign in automatically.
Notes for specific platforms
Roku
You can sign in with your Roku Account (already linked to your device) or with your Email. If you choose Email, a sign-in link will be sent to your inbox.
Apple TV
You can sign in with your Apple Account or your Email. If you use Apple Account, you can choose to hide or share your email — use the same option consistently in future sign-ins.
Signing in by Email — important notes
Enter your email and tap Submit.
Check your inbox for the sign-in email (also check your spam folder).
Click the Sign In button in the email — this redirects to the Haystack website to complete sign-in.
If you get a "code expired" error, check that you are opening the most recent email by verifying the date and time.
