If you signed in to Haystack News using Apple and selected "Hide My Email", Apple creates a private relay email address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com) that is used instead of your real email. This relay address becomes the email associated with your Haystack account.
What this means for your account
Your Haystack account is registered under the relay email, not your personal email.
If you purchased a Premium subscription, it is linked to that relay address.
Typing your personal email on the sign-in screen will not find your account.
How to sign in correctly
Always use the Sign in with Apple button — do not type your email manually. Apple will automatically use the relay address associated with your account.
How to find your Apple relay email address
If you need your relay email (for example, to contact support), follow these steps on your iPhone or iPad:
Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
Tap Sign-In & Security.
Tap Apps Using Apple ID.
Find Haystack News in the list.
Your relay email address is shown there — it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com.
You can also find it at appleid.apple.com → Sign-In & Security → Apps Using Apple ID.
If you cannot access your account
If you are having trouble signing in or finding your Haystack account, contact our support team and include:
Your Apple relay email address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com)
Or your Haystack User ID (found in Settings → About inside the app)
Our team will locate your account and help you regain access.
Can I change my sign-in email?
The relay email is managed by Apple and cannot be changed from within Haystack. If you want to use your personal email instead, you would need to create a new Haystack account with your personal email. Contact our support team if you need help transferring your subscription.
